CONQUEROR'S PROTOCOL: a complete MANUAL to REINVENTING yourself
“isolation is a prerequisite to success.”
read that again.
the soft male of 2026 has been trained to read that sentence as a threat.
he has been told for so long that loneliness is a pathology, solitude is a symptom of some malignant disease — that he no longer has the equipment to recognize what he is being deprived of.
he has been farmed for engagement his entire conscious life.
his attention is the product.
he has been farmed.
and the farming is so total that even his ambition, your ambition, the residual hunger you feel for something more — has been sucked, poked, pulled, made fun of, until eventually, it becomes something perverse.
PERFORMATIVE AMBITION.
and it is, more than you realize, the reason you have been working hard for years and feel that nothing has changed.
THE CONQUEROR’S RESET
what you need is a conqueror’s reset.
not a productivity reset.
not a dopamine detox.
not a mindfulness retreat.
a deliberate, possibly extended, possibly painful, structural withdrawal from the perverse performativity that engulfs modern life.
a phase where you finally get to know yourself, understand yourself, work on what actually matters to you — where the only feedback loop is the work and the silence and having to struggle through the muddy cage of doubt and fear.
an uncountable number of greats, men and women we speak of with pride and idolize, have been through this phase.
Newton, for example, ran one for 18 MONTHS.
it was 1665.
the plague was tearing through London.
the universities closed.
Newton went home to his mother’s farm at Woolsthorpe and spent eighteen months alone in a room.
in that room, in that single isolated stretch, he developed calculus, decomposed white light through the prism, formulated the inverse-square law of gravitation, and worked out the foundations of classical mechanics.
he later called those months his annus mirabilis — the miracle year.
he was 23, and he had just revolutionized science.
what Newton understood, and what nobody now seems to understand, is that the deepest leverage a young man has access to is the ability to remove himself from the world for long enough that the embers of passion and ambition can roar and compound without interference.
the plague didn’t make Newton.
the plague gave him time.
time to shut out the idiocies of the world and let himself be consumed by science.
Miyamoto Musashi, the most legendary of Japanese samurai, went further.

he wrote the Book of Five Rings from Reigandō Cave in the mountains of Higo province, Japan, in 1645.
he was ill, near death, and had spent his entire life killing other men in single combat.
and at the end he withdrew to a cave in the mountains and wrote down everything he had learned about the way of strategy, mastery, life:
“I became master of myself, and thereby mastery of the sword, and the brush, never differentiating between any of these arts.”
read that line again.
he became master of HIMSELF.
mastery of the sword followed.
mastery of the brush followed.
they were by-products of the interior.
mastery over the internal is something I speak of so much I’m starting to think it’s getting redundant, but repetition rewires the brain, you need to hear it, I need to hear it.
and so I’ll never stop writing about it.
Caesar did this too, in typical glorious Caesar fashion.
he spent nine years in Gaul.
nine years away from Rome.
nine years building an army, building a terrifyingly efficient body of military strategy and combat before he ever crossed the Rubicon.
the senate had no idea what he was doing, what he was becoming because Rome could not see him.
by the time he came back, he wasn’t the man Rome had sent.
he was the Caesar we speak of today.
THE SOFT MALE’S OBJECTION
the reader now might, understandably, have an objection.
let me state it for you so you can see it clear as moonlight.
“isn’t this just incel logic? isn’t “isolation is a prerequisite to success” the same thing the basement-dweller tells himself to feel better about not having any friends and jizzing the Reddit pixels?
I’ll steelman this argument.
there is, genuinely, a terrifying way of life where a young man cuts himself off from human contact under the banner of “depth” and “I need to lock in” and what he’s actually doing is hiding from the embarrassment of social life and to be seen trying.
this is fear.
he is alone in his room because social life is INTIMIDATING.
he reads Nietzsche because it makes him feel superior to the people he can’t talk to.
that exists, and it’s tragically what the lives of many young men devolve into.
and the conqueror’s reset, when badly executed, becomes that.
so let me make the distinction clean.
the conqueror’s reset is NOT the absence of relationships or social life or physical contact and touch.
it is the deliberate pruning of relationships that do not contribute to your work, in service of relationships that do, the deliberate fortification of beliefs that serve you, and the deliberate deep dive into a state of heightened focus.
It is not “i hate everyone.”
It is “i am drawing a tighter circle around the people who are useful to my becoming, and the people outside that circle can go fish.”
It is intentional.
It is, for the period of the reset, ruthless about input.
Newton was not alone in the universe.
he wrote letters to Edmund Halley.
he had correspondents.
he had the infinite library of all the natural philosophers and scientist who came before him.
what he removed was the slop of the everyday social field:
the dinners, the small talk, the dilution of concentration.
this is NOT what most young men’s “locking in” looks like.
Newton was alone and focused.
the soft male confuses this.
he believes being alone to mean being lonely.
they are completely different conditions.
lonely is the involuntary experience of wanting company YOU DON’T HAVE.
alone is the voluntary experience of removing company YOU DON’T WANT.
you can be alone in a crowded city.
you can be lonely in a room full of friends.
the choice is yours.
SELF-LOVE
this is the part you’ve been most thoroughly stripped of and most desperately need back.
you cannot build a life that exceeds your capacity to love yourself.
read that again.
you cannot build a life that exceeds your capacity to love yourself.
the ceiling on your output is the ceiling on how much you respect what you do and who you are.
and you cannot build genuine self-love or know what you think, believe, respect — what you actually care about — without isolation.
you don’t know what you actually love until you spend enough time alone that every belief constructed from your formative experiences as a youth is stripped down and confronted with the reality that most of what you believe doesn’t serve you.
the conqueror’s reset is this period during which constructed, borrowed, and flat out false beliefs fall quiet.
and what’s underneath will surprise you.
because what’s underneath is a person you don’t recognize because you haven’t spent any actual time with him in years.
he has opinions you didn’t know he had.
he has tastes you didn’t know he had.
he wants to do specific things, like learn a piece on the piano or travel to faraways land or build something impromptu.
he is interesting — you, dear reader, are interesting.
after about a month of this, you start to like him.
after about three months of this, you start to love him.
after a year of this, the ceiling on what you can build moves up by an order of magnitude, because the entire interior architecture of WHO YOU ARE has been reconstructed and pointed at what you actually want.
the greatest act of creativity you will ever undergo is the act of creating yourself.
the greatest act of self-love you will ever undergo is the act of understanding yourself.
the greatest act of self-love is a period of isolation, it is a conqueror reset.
WHAT YOU REMOVE
the reset is mostly subtraction.
REMOVE PEOPLE WHO DO NOT CONTRIBUTE
there are people in your life right now who consume energy and return nothing, or worse, return shit-for-brains ideas and constant negativity.
they are not bad people.
they are simply not aligned with who you’re becoming.
no hard feelings.
REMOVE THE SHIT ALGORITHMS
you have to be honest about which ones those are.
it isn’t the same for every person.
for some, instagram is the worst.
for others, it’s reddit.
for most, it’s all of them and you should 100% delete any and all social media you have.
I don’t care that “but my friends are on there” or that “I have people I need to text.”
the people who care about you have your phone number.
no hard feelings.
REMOVE THE NEWS.
all of it.
the news is poison.
the news is engineered to keep you in a state of emotional reactivity, which makes deep and creative work impossible.
you don’t need to know what’s happening.
nothing happening is going to be more important than what is happening inside you.
the news will still be there when you come out.
and it will be exactly the same news.
REMOVE “PRODUCTIVITY”
you do not need to listen to a podcast about deep work.
you need to do deep work.
you do not need a fancy “morning routine”
you need to do deep work.
every minute spent listening to someone else describe the practice is a minute the practice is not happening.
the entire self-improvement industry is like hospitals, it relies on people who need to come back to it, in hopes of a miraculous cure.
you have read enough.
you have listened enough.
you have not worked enough.
WHAT YOU ADD
like I said: the reset is mostly subtraction, but a few specific things go in.
DEEP WORK
a body of work that you can return to every day.
mine are writing and app-building.
this is connected to the last pillar — it’s what will eventually shape your days, it’s where you accrue mastery and develop passion, skill, and potentially reap the financial benefits of being really fucking good.
PHYSICAL WORK
a set of physical practices that anchor you in the body and develop strength, power, agility, speed, and elegance.
it could be biking, basketball, piano, running, lifting.
the practice itself isn’t that important, you know your goals (I’d say look good as fuck while being an athlete), you know how you like moving.
what matters is that the body is involved.
mine are piano, soccer, calisthenics, and jump rope.
RELATIONSHIPS
a small number of relationships that you love and who genuinely have a positive impact on your life — typically two to four people outside of direct family.
most of my best friends are away for college, the one who isn’t I see at least once a week.
movies, restaurants, going to the city, just fucking around.
you need a core group of tight-knit friends like that you could call brothers.
JOURNAL
this is non-negotiable.
it is the cave.
it is Woolsthorpe.
you need a place to dump all thoughts, experiences, and ideas you have with absolutely no filter.
just pure stream of consciousness.
my daily journaling happens in the evening.
I crouch over my bed in a weirdly unorthodox knees-on-the-ground-chest-on-the-bed way and just write.
sometimes I have no idea what to say.
sometimes I write for 15-30 minutes.
and every single time, no matter the length or “depth” of my writing, it feels like a release.
A GOAL
a specific thing you are building toward.
a thing that is named, a thing that has a deadline, a thing you are about.
could be making money online, could be getting into shape, could be finding a wife, could be building a house.
this is your driving obsession.
without this fundamental pillar there is no conqueror’s reset.
and if you feel lost or don’t know where to position yourself, then let that become your goal.
as discussed a major part of this reset is silence and journaling, the only two tools you need to find out exactly what the fuck you were put on this earth for.
these are the 5 anchors of the reset.
the work.
the body.
the small circle.
the private journal.
the coined direction.
with those 5, you can disappear for as long as you need to.
YOU DO NOT NEED PERMISSION
you don’t need permission.
you don’t need a sabbatical.
you don’t need a marvelous reason to start.
you don’t need everyone in your life to understand.
you don’t need the right city.
you don’t need the right phase.
you need to want the version of yourself on the other side of the reset more than you want the current version of you.
most of your peers and most young men will never run a reset.
they will live and die in continuous low-grade visibility.
their entire interior lives will have been shaped by the brain-frying content on a platform owned by people who give no shits about them.
they will believe, at the end, that they were free.
you are reading this because you suspect, at some level, that the freedom on offer is not freedom.
AND YOU WOULD BE RIGHT.
freedom is the period during which you are not visible to anyone, doing work that will eventually be visible to everyone, in the delicious silence of a room locked to the outside world.
the door doesn’t need to open for years.
the door doesn’t need to open until what’s inside it is finished.
and when it opens, the world will not understand what happened in there.
that is the whole point, dear reader.
Nothing more. Nothing less.

Great one. Really enjoyed it.
